Collagio - 4 Week Collage Course

Join us for a 4 week collage course that will cover the basis of cut and paste and how to create dynamic art pieces.

Each class we will explore basics of collage including composition, mixed media, collage improvisation, abstract and narrative art pieces. We will use poetry, pop culture and personal writings as a prompt to begin. We will learn about 4 different collage artists throughout history to inspire our own creations.

This class is a very hand on experiential class and we will be working with various mediums including drawing, painting and mark making together with collage.

Participants will be provided with a creativity kit of a collage journal, a vintage paper pack, a pen and a few creativity prompt cards.

This workshop is created for both the emerging and established artist. It's a fun way to explore your imagination and kick start your creativity while being in community.

Workshops will take place at Eldercamp Cafe at 340 Barton St E in the East End of Hamilton.

Lisa Pijuan-Nomura is a mixed media artist who creates one of a kind collage art pieces with papers from long ago. She focuses on mixed media collage work combining vintage ephemera, textiles, hand written letters and photos from long ago. Her work has been seen at The Artist Project, Hundred Dollar Gallery, DeFacto Gallery, James North Studio, The Cannon Gallery, One of A Kind Show, Queen West Arts Crawl, Crafternoon Tea, City of Craft, Cabbagetown Arts and Craft Show, Handmade Market, Handmade Hamilton and Movies and Makers.

Since 2022 she has been awarded residencies including LUMINATO AiR 2022. Nordic Artist Exchange Estonia Residency 2022, Kolaj Joy In Collage Residency in New Orleans 2024, Gladstone House in Toronto, Chateau Orquevaux in France 2024, and MADE Creatives in Mexico in 2025..

In April of 2026, Lisa will be presenting her one person exhibit When She Was at Studio 206 at the Cotton Factory.
